Searching for Shattockes
The Shattockes are
searching for their ancestors in Somerset. Philip Shaddock on his
shaddock.ca site has accumulated a vast amount of research on the
ancient Shattocke family in his and his relatives quest to find the
scattered branches of the family.
He thinks all Shaddocks, Shaddicks,
Shattocks, Shattucks and other family surname variations might have
originated out of Somerset. He has been using DNA testing to find
familial connections between the far-flung family branches but so far
has not found a Somerset Shattock to participate in the family
research.
If you are a male Shattock and your ancestry traces back to
Somerset you may be holding the "missing link" in your
genes. Philip is willing to do the testing for free for the first two
Shattocks to participate. Contact him through the Shattocke website
(http://www.shaddock.ca/contact).
Over 30 Shattockes have tested so far, and have found long last
family connections among themselves.
You can follow Philip's latest news on his blog.

Hi Ursula,
ReplyDeleteSince last year I did find four Shattocks from Somerset who have participated in our DNA research project. The results are still coming in but they have already had a big impact on the family tree! Thanks for posting this Ursula!
Hi Philip, sorry for the late reply. For some reason I didn't receive a notification of your comment. I'm glad you are getting good results. I follow your journey with interest and whenever I find something Shattock related, I eagerly share this with you.
