Bits and Pieces of None Somerset Things

This photo was bought along with several others at Junction 24 (Bridgwater) Car Boot Sale.

It dates between 1883 and 1898 when the headmistress M Belcher governed the Bedford High School.  There is an inscription on the back of the frame to varify this and from research we can narrow the date to the dates mentioned.

 It is barely visable but reads 'New Group of Inmates.  Bedford High School. Miss Belcher Head Mistress in Centre'.


Other items bought include a beautiful portrait of Isabella Buchanan.

Research is being carried out on this rather elegant lady.

Half the fun for me is researching these bits and pieces and hopefully finding a story or person that is depicted.
